Living Happily Ever After
-
Once upon a time . . .
. . . some chick in Fargo sat down and started writing about her life
post-divorce on the internet. Not knowing where it would go. ...
In 2007 I went through a divorce after 13 years of marriage. In other words, the sky turned green and the grass turned blue.
Maybe just to cope, maybe just because I am a self-proclaimed ego maniac, or maybe just because writing is in my soul, I began publishing two humorous essays/week on my first blog, which I christened: Divorce Land.
And an amazing thing happened. My readers responded with stories of adversity that came in many flavors. And I quickly realized that no one is ever alone on this crooked and complex journey through life.
Please join me as I continue to seek out those humorous twists to life in this forever uncertain adventure, for even when our worlds are turned upside down, God promises to be our constant and unwavering companion.
Here’s to life’s joyful and endless possibilities, now and always.
~Audra~.
50%. Those are the stats. Half of us will live happily NEVER after according to the divorce rate in this country.
So what happens in that crazy first year following a divorce? It's an adventure for sure, but life's momentum does not cease. My divorce aftermath story is a cocktail of uncertainty, blind faith, misteps, and of course gallons of tears. But through it all the two elements I refused to live without were laughter and hope.
This blog of my essays stands as my testament to the belief that even in the face of something as profound as divorce, you can find amazing strength and hope if you relentlessly seek just one essential thing each and every day: a reason . . . to laugh your ass off.
Publication Schedule I publish two essays a week. Look for new posts every Monday and Thursday and thanks for reading!
